Frequently Asked Questions

What ages are accepted for your services?
Participants must be at least 10 years old.

Why should I go snorkeling with you?
I work with small groups only, use high-quality gear, and I’m a certified lifeguard. The tour takes place in a protected nature reserve—a calm, safe, and unique spot with limited access.

Can I snorkel on my own?
Technically yes, but Tamarindo Beach is a remote nature reserve with no nearby services. It’s highly recommended to go with a guide first. Many people try it on their own and don’t see a single turtle, while my guests consistently spot several.

Is it easy to see turtles at Tamarindo?
For trained guides—yes. With the right techniques and knowledge of their behavior, turtle sightings are almost guaranteed.

Can I touch the turtles?
Absolutely not. Touching or harassing sea turtles is illegal and strictly prohibited. I enforce this rule without exceptions.

Is seeing turtles guaranteed?
Yes. If you don't see turtles on my guided tour, I’ll give you a full refund.

Do I need previous snorkeling experience?
Not at all. All you need is a good attitude. I’ll teach you everything you need to know and be with you the entire time.

How many people are in each group?
I guide small groups of up to 6 people to ensure a safe, personalized, and high-quality experience.

Where is the meeting point?
We usually meet at Tamarindo Beach. If you need transportation, I can help arrange it for an additional fee.

Do you provide flotation devices?
Yes. I provide comfortable float belts. You can remove them when it’s time to dive or take photos.

Are photos included in the tour?
Yes! Photos are included as part of your experience.

Can I drink alcohol before snorkeling?
No. Snorkel first, then relax with a drink at one of Culebra’s amazing beaches.

Are ferry tickets included?
No, but you can click here to buy your ferry tickets online. Book early!

  • Bring a long-sleeve SPF shirt instead of using sunscreen—it’s better for your skin and marine life. If you use sunscreen, please bring reef-safe sunscreen to protect corals and their ecosystem.
